Dave Lewis
It’s firmly our opinion that Dave Lewis is easily one of the most exciting drumming talents in the world today. A second-generation drummer and Berklee College of Music Alumnus, some of Dave’s teachers along the way have included Walfredo Reyes Sr., Rod Morgenstein, Mike Mangini, John Ramsay, Kenwood Dennard, Dave DiCenso, and his father, Michael Lewis. These influences show through in his work, and combined with his innate understanding of phrasing and lightning-quick hand-speed, when Mr. Lewis performs, crowds gather.
Dave has performed with Joe Lovano, Sheila E., Jetro da Silva, Victor Mendoza, Bryan Baker, Jerome Kyles, Thaddeus Hogarth and Walfredo Reyes Sr., as well as seeing action with his own quartet and the Boston based alternative rock group, a’tris. As a true multi-stylist, Dave has always excelled in freestyle performance, which includes The Guitar Center Drum-Off, where he made it to the Eastern National Finals at the Orlando House of Blues. Dave is also a classical and jazz pianist and composer, and continues to compose, produce and perform his original works, as well as recording and performing with many others in Boston and the San Francisco Bay area.
