Classically trained, highly decorated, and imaginative, Chicago-based multi-genre virtuoso Tom Sharpe is an internationally recognized and award-winning composer, performer, and recording artist. Beyond being a sought-out clinician and performer of his own works, Tom is drummer for the world-renowned, Grammy-Award Winning group Mannheim Steamroller, artistic director and principal performer of the Sharpe World Music Ensemble, and drummer for singer, songwriter, and pianist Dennis DeYoung, formerly of the legendary rock group Styx. Tom is an alumnus of the Interlochen Arts Academy, and holds both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from DePaul University in Chicago. His style of composition and visually stimulating performance goes beyond refined, and is truly one-of-a-kind. Tom has been honored and featured in more forums than can be published here, withoutstanding achievement awards in composition from VH1, Disc Makers, and the Great American Songwriting Contest, as well as his work being voted the Grand Prize Winning, World Music Song of the Year by the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
